Job Description
Our collaborator is a restaurant in Antwerp offering an international and professional hospitality environment. The culinary team is composed of experienced professionals who are committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and service. This internship provides students with the opportunity to gain practical kitchen experience, develop their culinary skills, and learn about the daily operations of a professional restaurant.
Tasks
- Assist with daily food preparation, ingredient preparation, and mise en place.
- Support chefs during lunch and dinner service while maintaining the required quality standards.
- Prepare basic dishes, sauces, garnishes, and desserts under the supervision of the kitchen team.
- Assist with the plating and presentation of dishes.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workstation throughout each shift.
- Follow HACCP procedures, food safety regulations, and hygiene standards.
- Receive, store, and organise food products while applying the FIFO stock rotation principle.
- Assist with stock control and monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Develop professional culinary techniques and gain practical experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Requirements
- Currently studying Culinary Arts, Gastronomy, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Good command of English.
- Passion for cooking and willingness to learn.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP is an advantage, but not required.
- Eligible to complete an internship as part of their studies.
Conditions
- Financial compensation of €450 per month.
- Free accommodation.
- Two free meals per working day.

Availability and hours

- Working schedule: Full-time.
- Candidates should be available to work according to the restaurant's operational schedule, including lunch and dinner service.
