Job Description:

As a Furniture Maker Intern, you will work directly under experienced craftsmen and learn all aspects of furniture making from concept to completion. This includes assisting with the design and fabrication of custom, high-end furniture pieces, learning to use a variety of woodworking tools and machinery, and executing detailed joinery work. Interns also get the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale project, demonstrating the skills attained during their internship.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in crafting unique, handmade furniture
  • Learn and implement traditional and modern woodworking techniques
  • Safely operate various woodworking machines and hand tools
  • Work on custom joinery, finishing, and furniture assembly
  • Collaborate with a team on designing and completing a large project

Personal and Job Requirements:

  • Experience in carpentry or woodworking is advantageous but not required
  • Ability to comprehend and execute complex design drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen desire to learn and improve skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a high level of manual dexterity
  • Must be currently enrolled in or graduated from a degree related to Design, Crafts, or Arts
