Job Description and Duties

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be integral to supporting the delivery of our holistic curriculum. You will work collaboratively with our faculty members to enhance students' educational experiences. Responsibilities include:

- Assisting classroom teachers in the planning, preparation, and implementation of individual and group activities.
- Nurturing each student’s education by understanding their uniqueness, catering to their individual needs, and fostering their intellectual curiosity.
- Maintaining a stimulating, organized, and tidy classroom environment that encourages independent and co-operative learning.
- Observing, recording, and reporting on student progress to help teachers evaluate and further refine their teaching strategies.
- Supporting classroom discipline and reinforcing the school’s standards of conduct.
- Participating in staff meetings, professional development events, and accompanying students on field trips.

Personal and Professional Requirements

- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field. Experience working in an educational setting is highly favourable.
- Ability to foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment that respects all students’ differences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Portuguese and English.
- Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to multitask and problem-solve independently.
- Understanding of child development, learning, and behavior management theories and strategies.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for classroom management, distance learning (where necessary), and student engagement.
- Resilience, empathy, and patience, alongside a deep respect for the individual needs and backgrounds of all students.
