An internship opportunity has arisen within the Finance department for a Solvency and Reporting Executive reporting to the Head of Solvency. You will form part of the Finance Department and report to the Head of Solvency.  

Tasks

  • RESPONSIBLE for calculating, analysing and monitoring the solvency position of two insurance entities registered in Malta.
  • RESPONSIBLE for preparing all applicable reporting templates under the Insurance Business Act (Solvency II) for quarterly and yearly submissions to the Malta Financial Services Authority and Central Bank of Malta.
  • TAKE CONTROL of all reporting requirements under the Insurance Distribution Act.
  • MANAGE stress testing scenarios forming part of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment Report and updating the report with the required narrative
  • PERFORM solvency simulations on financial plans and be able to analyse and explain the results

  • MANAGE Committee material

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts (preferably in the initial stages of the ACCA course or an equivalent accounting qualification).
  • Experience in insurance. Alternatively, a keen interest in insurance and its regulation with reference to Pillar 1 and Pillar 3 of the Solvency II regulation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools especially Excel.
  • Be able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Self-driven individual able to work independently.
  • Positive person and critical thinker.

  • Be proactive with a problem-solving skill set.
  • Be accurate and with an eye for detail.
  • Have a questioning mind.
