Job Description

This internship is a hands-on opportunity to gain holistic experience in the world of furniture making. You will start from understanding the basics of woodworking including selection of wood, preparation, assembly, and finishing, gradually moving to design and production assistance in classic and contemporary furniture. Further, you'll receive exposure to industry-standard tools, CAD drafting, model making, fabrication, furniture restoration and much more.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all phases of furniture production, from conceptualization to finishing.
• Utilize various hand tools and machinery appropriate to woodworking.
• Design and produce CAD drawings, models and prototypes.
• Contribute to furniture restoration projects.
• Collaborate and coordinate with different teams for smooth project implementation.
• Abide by safety and handling protocols at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

Students or recent graduates in furniture design, fine arts, or related field, possessing a strong interest in woodworking and furniture design are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in CAD software and sketching is highly desirable. Applicants should also demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively, problem solve creatively and be resilient in overcoming the challenges that come with crafting bespoke furniture pieces.
