Job Description

We are currently seeking to hire an English Teaching Assistant to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be required to assist in preparing course materials, support instructors during lessons and provide comprehensive assistance to students including not just linguistic, but also cultural nuances of English. They will be obliged to manage classroom tasks, contribute to the setting and marking of tests, and offer tailored support to any student struggling with English proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Support lead teachers in delivering English lessons effectively.
- Plan and prepare course materials to enhance learning experiences.
- Assist in designing, administering and grading student exams.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse student needs.
- Help students understand the cultural aspects of English speaking populations.

Job Requirements

Applicants should possess at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in English language education or related fields. Proven experience as a teaching assistant or a similar role would be advantageous. The ideal candidate should also be TEFL certified (or similar), thereby displaying a commitment to the profession.

Personal Requirements

We are looking for an individual who is compassionate, patient, and possesses strong organisational and time-management skills. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A fundamental understanding of Italian would be valuable but not essential.
