Job Tasks Description
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering quality education by preparing instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Support individual students or small groups with specific learning needs by providing additional instruction and guidance.
- Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and communication, reporting findings to the teaching staff.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring that it is conducive to learning.
- Facilitate student engagement and participation in activities and discussions, encouraging collaboration and teamwork.
- Supervise students during playtime, lunchtime, and breaks, promoting positive social interactions.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings to enhance teaching practices.
Job and Personal Requirements
- Relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., teaching assistant diploma, degree in education).
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting or educational environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to relate to students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while showing initiative in individual tasks.
- Fluency in Portuguese is essential; proficiency in English or other languages is a plus.
- First aid certification or willingness to undergo training.
