Our language school is located at the heart of the beautiful city of Bologna, Italy. In our continuous pursuit of excellence, we are currently seeking an experienced English Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be primarily tasked with supporting the main English tutor in both preparing and delivering lessons, while promoting a robust English-speaking environment.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and reinforcing lesson materials, offering personalized attention to students struggling with English syntax and pronunciation, providing constructive feedback on oral and written work, assisting in creating lesson plans that align with our curriculum, and actively participating in school activities promoting English language learning and appreciation. Additionally, the TA will liaise between the students and the Teacher, providing insights on the students' progress and suggesting potential improvements to promote optimal learning.
Qualifications for the role include a Bachelor's Degree in English, Education, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field, with a preference for candidates with a Master's Degree. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in an ESL/EFL setting is an asset, and proficiency in Italian is also advantageous.
Further, applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of effective language teaching methodologies, and an approachable, empathetic demeanor. Strong organizational skills, an ability to motivate and inspire students, and a willingness to contribute to a diverse and inclusive education community are additional prerequisites.
