Assistant Guide Internship in Tenerife, Spain

Job Description

Our collaborator is originally a Nordic adventure company that operates in Tenerife arranging different types of activities like hiking, diving and snorkelling to start with. They are looking for motivated and positive interns, preferably German and French, who aren’t afraid to dive with them into a new adventure!

They offer their clients unforgettable excursions, mind-blowing experiences and picturesque landscapes in the unique nature of Tenerife. To interns they offer instead a great opportunity to learn to plan, market, sell, organize and execute a variety of trips and adventures.

The internship description is to help their guides on tours and to carry out assisted tasks on their operative and customer service units. The working language is English so they require the interns to speak fluent English and especially Swedish, French, Finnish and German languages are also highly valued. All other languages are a great advantage – they appreciate broad language skills since their clientele is international.

The internship is done in their North office in Puerto de la Cruz. They only offer internships of minimum of 3 months. Offers accommodation for the interns during their stay. They might consider a longer internship period, but in that case, the internship would be focusing on sales, marketing, translations and office work.

The ideal candidate

Languages: Good English and one of the following languages; German, French, Swedish or Finnish is an essential and Spanish would also be a bonus.

Experience in trekking, surfing, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking, trail running and other outdoor activities would be very relevant (as these are some of our other activities), as would any experience in customer service, sales or tourism. Previous employment as a tour guide would also be a bonus. All dive certificates and previous dive experience is of course a big plus.

Duration: 3-6 months depending on previous experience. Minimum stay is 3 months.

Other: Active lifestyle and an outgoing personality and owning a driving licence are essential.

Working hours: 40 hours / week on different times.
