Job Description

As an Education/Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities include:

- Support teachers in planning and executing lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum
- Assist students with class work and ensure they understand concepts being taught
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials
- Monitor and maintain a positive and safe learning environment
- Assist with grading, prepare teaching aids and help maintain classroom resources
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities and school-wide events
- Facilitate positive parent-teacher relations and communicate student progress

Requirements

Job Requirements

- Minimum of a Diploma or its equivalent in education/ teaching assistant program
- Relevant work experience in a school setting is an asset
- Familiarity with the national curriculum and the ability to assist in teaching a diverse range of subjects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Able to work effectively in a dynamic and multicultural environment
- Experience with special educational needs is highly desirable
