Job Description
Our collaborator is a design startup that produces premium quality fronts for IKEA kitchen furniture. They manufacture in Spain and sell online throughout Europe.
IKEA is their starting point for its unbeatable value for money. Its modular system, combined with custom fronts, gives our collaborator's customers a chance to have a unique kitchen adapted to their style without the high cost of customizing it with traditional manufacturers.
They are looking for an enthusiastic design and production intern to join their team.
Tasks
You will play a key role in support with:
- Generating production files using their state-of-the-art pre-production system (Rhinoceros + Grasshopper).
- Reviewing and managing technical documentation for production readiness.
- Enhancing visual programming and workflows through detailed analysis and improvement of technical documentation.
- Monitoring and tracking project production stages.
- Contributing to the creation of product and installation manuals.
- Collaborating daily with the production team, engaging in essential meetings and briefings.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in industrial design and/or architecture.
- Able to provide a training agreement from your university.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Other languages are considered a plus.
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D software like CAD, Rhinoceros 3D, and SketchUp.
- Programming skills in Grasshopper; additional languages are a bonus.
- Graphic design capabilities (Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are advantageous).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management.
- Strong copywriting skills, with a keen eye for effective communication.
- You're eager to learn and grow in a professional setting.
- Detail-oriented and meticulous in your approach.
- Interest in programmatic design.
- Passionate about furniture design.
- Ready to embrace challenges in a dynamic start-up atmosphere.
Conditions
- Monthly stipend of €500
- Proper paperwork offered to fulfil course credit for an institution.
