Job Description

The Education / Teaching Assistant will be expected to support the lead teacher in planning, organizing and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to meet and exceed their academic potential. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with lead teachers to execute lesson plans and instruct students
  • Assisting with facilitating interactive and engaging learning activities
  • Helping with necessary classroom preparations and clean up
  • Providing support to students with learning difficulties or special needs
  • Maintaining accurate student records including attendance, grades and behaviour
  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of students
  • Participating in school meetings, parent meetings and professional development activities

  • A bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting
