Education / Teaching Assistant Vacancy in Funchal, Portugal
Our school, located in the picturesque city of Funchal on the island of Madeira, Portugal, is looking for a dedicated and capable Education/Teaching Assistant. As a highly diverse and multicultural school, we have a passion for shaping young minds to be independent thinkers and world citizens.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The potential candidate is expected to perform the following responsibilities:
- Support teachers in preparing class materials and coursework.
- Provide assistance to students individually or in small groups for understanding the classwork and assignments.
- Track attendance and record students' behaviour in the class.
- Assist and supervise students during non-classroom activities such as meal times and recreational activities.
- Be proactive in maintaining a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment.
- Facilitate communication between parents, teachers, and administration.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Education or a related field from an accredited higher education institution.
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant, preferable but not mandatory.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
- Proficient in basic computer applications like MS Office, Google Drive, etc.
