Job Description:

We are looking for an English Teaching Assistant to support in delivering engaging and effective English lessons to our diverse student base. You will be required to assist the lead teacher in lesson planning and preparation, develop learning materials, as well as monitor and evaluate student performance to ensure their progress. You will also provide one-on-one assistance to students struggling with language concepts and are expected to foster a supportive learning environment.

Tasks:

  • Assisting the lead English teacher in developing lesson plans and creating engaging learning materials.
  • Facilitating a friendly, supportive, and interactive classroom environment.
  • Taking an active role in monitoring students' language progress and providing feedback.
  • Collaborating with the teaching team to continuously improve the curriculum and teaching methods.

Requirements:

A successful candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, Education or a related field. A TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certificate is preferred. At least one year of experience in a similar role is desirable. You need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, a passion for teaching, and cultural sensitivity. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is a must. Knowledge of Portuguese or another foreign language is a plus.
