Role Description

We are searching for an energetic, skilled English Teaching Assistant to join our team. The selected candidate will support our lead English teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging, learner-centered lessons. Other responsibilities include assessing students’ reading, writing, and conversational English skills, providing feedback that helps students grow, and assist with the creation of instructional materials and other teaching aids.

Job Requirements

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a TEFL/TESOL certification preferred. Previous experience as a teaching assistant or relevant role in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) is desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, an innovative approach to teaching/ learning methodologies, an understanding of curriculum development, and the ability to engage students to create an inspiring learning environment.

Personal Requirements

The successful candidate will be a caring professional with a passion for languages and education, with strong intercultural competency due to the international nature of our school. Superb organisational skills, the ability to work well within a team, and the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and to take on a variety of tasks are crucial for this role. Proficiency in Portuguese is a benefit but not a requirement.
