We are a well-established language school located in the heart of Padua, Italy, offering a selection of language classes to students of different ages, from young learners to adult professionals. The English Teaching Assistant will be responsible for supporting the lead teacher in preparing and conducting English classes, aiding in lesson planning, preparing classroom materials and resources, as well as grading student assignments and providing them with constructive feedback. They will also assist in maintaining student records, manage classroom behaviour and enforcing school policies, and contribute to creating an engaging and creative learning environment. Moreover, the Assistant is expected to participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in education, English or a related field and have professional proficiency in English language. Previous experience as a teaching assistant or a teacher in a similar setting will be considered an advantage. Candidates should have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and have a genuine passion for teaching. Finally, having a TEFL/TESOL certification will be a significant plus.
Adaptable and intuitive, the candidate must also be a team player who can manage time effectively and meet deadlines. They should have a creative approach towards teaching and be comfortable working with different age groups. Problem-solving skills in a multilingual and multicultural environment is essential. A basic understanding of Italian language and culture is beneficial though not compulsory.
