Educational/Teaching Assistant

A thriving and multicultural school located in the heart of Lanzarote, Spain, seeks an experienced, passionate and motivated Educational/Teaching Assistant to support the learning objectives of the students within a classroom setting.

Professional Tasks

The successful candidate must be supportive in addressing children's personal, developmental, and educational needs. This includes assisting the teacher with classroom preparation, supporting learning activities, promoting equality, inclusion, and managing classroom behaviour. The candidate will also be required to monitor, record, and report student progress.

Personal Tasks

You will be expected to maintain a supportive relationship with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering an environment of mutual respect and cooperation. As a key part of a child's educational experience, you will have an active role in pastoral care, including promoting self-esteem and providing emotional support.

Job Requirements

Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in Education or a related field and ideally have experience in a similar role. A strong understanding of child development and learning strategies and a sensitivity to children’s needs are essential. Certification in First Aid and knowledge of Spanish is desirable but not a requirement.

Applicants must be enthusiastic, patient, and able to inspire and stimulate young minds, ensuring they reach their full potential. Exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work effectively and creatively as part of a team are crucial. A commitment to continuing professional development is also required.
