Education / Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Education / Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic school based in the beautiful city of Viseu, Portugal. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our teachers, help create engaging educational material, and contribute to improving our students' learning outcomes.

Job Description and Duties

• Provide classroom support to teachers including setting up learning materials, monitoring pupil progress, and managing class behavior.
• Assist in the planning and preparation of lessons in accordance with the school curriculum
• Provide one-on-one assistance to students requiring additional support
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities
• Adhere to school policies, confidentiality protocols, and safety regulations
• Contribute to a positive, stimulating, and inclusive educational environment

Job Requirements

• A degree or equivalent qualification in education
• Fluency in Portuguese and strong communication skills in English
• Experience working in a school or educational setting
• Strong capacity for managing young people and good classroom management skills
• Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
