Job Vacancy: English Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and motivated English Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic language school located in the historic city of Guimarães, Portugal. Tasks Description

• Assist lead teachers in planning and delivering engaging English language lessons for students of various ages and proficiency levels.
• Facilitate small group activities and one-on-one tutoring sessions to enhance students’ speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to students, helping them set and achieve their language learning goals.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials, including worksheets, visual aids, and multimedia resources.
• Participate in school events, workshops, and professional development sessions to enhance teaching practices.
• Support classroom management and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist in assessing student progress and reporting on performance to parents and staff.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or related field.
• Previous experience in teaching or tutoring English as a second language is preferred.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Portuguese is an advantage.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• A patient and empathetic approach to working with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
