English Teaching Assistant at a Language School in Lanzarote, Spain

Job Description

As an English Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in reinforcing the teaching material using interactive, creative teaching methods. You will support the English Department in delivering high-quality language instruction and contribute to our exciting program of cross-cultural activities.

- Assist lead teacher with lesson planning and implementation using a variety of teaching techniques.
- Support learners in developing their language skills, emphasizing pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary through conversation and practice exercises.
- Provide assistance in grading students’ performance and provide constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
- Collaborate with the learning support team to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with particular learning needs.
- Guide and inspire students to fully participate in all aspects of school life, including out-of-class activities that promote language learning and cultural understanding.

Job Requirements

Ideal applicants will hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English or a related field, ideally a CELTA, TEFL or TESL certificate. You should have at least one year of prior teaching experience in a similar role and possess knowledge about intercultural communication. Spanish language skills would be beneficial but are not mandatory.
