Job Opening: Education / Teaching Assistant

We are a well-established, progressive international school in the beautiful island of Gran Canaria, Spain, seeking a dedicated Education / Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. Our school provides high quality education to a diverse student body, catering to both the local and international community.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be required to assist teachers in planning and implementing lessons that cater for all students. This includes providing individual and small group instruction to students under the direct supervision of the teacher, planning and preparing learning materials, and assisting with the general welfare and discipline of students. The role also involves encouraging positive student participation in activities, monitoring and recording student progress, and providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Job Requirements

Ideal candidates should have a minimum of a university degree in Education or a related field, with preference for candidates with a specialization in Special Education. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role is required, as well as fluency in both English and Spanish. Knowledge of the Spanish Education System would be a plus. Candidates should possess effective classroom management skills, excellent communication abilities, and have a deep fondness for working with children. A clean background check is necessary.
