Job Description

The English Teaching Assistant will primarily be responsible for supporting our trained educators in administering English language classes for a variety of age ranges and proficiency levels. This includes, but is not limited to, leading small group discussions, providing one-to-one tutoring, preparing teaching materials, and grading assignments.

Additionally, the Teaching Assistant will aid in developing curriculum, incorporating modern, interactive teaching methodologies to foster a positive learning environment. You will also be required to attend staff meetings, participate in professional development seminars, and assist the head teacher in administrative duties.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in English, Education, or a relevant field and have a recognized TEFL/TESOL certification. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, ideally at a language school, is preferred. Proficiency in Portuguese or another language, while not mandatory, would be an asset.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills, along with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse student body, are a must.
