SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Help waiters ensure the highest quality service and quality drinks according to established standards and recipes, maintain a clean working environment and minimize spills and waste.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be on time long before each shift starts
- Follow all opening/closing procedures
- Prepare the bar and make mise in place before shifts
- Treat and greet all guests with courtesy
- Treat all guests and colleagues with the utmost respect and kindness
- Keep a clean and cozy bar area at all times
- Display bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional way
- Support restaurant servers accurately and promptly
- Assist in re-supply and refill the inventory of rods and supplies
- Be always accessible to guests and co-workers during the shifts
QUALIFICATIONS
- Serve alcoholic beverages under the legal age (at least 21 years old is recommendable)
- Minimum experience of one year working as a bar-back or in similar positions
- Familiarity with all laws related to the sale of alcoholic beverages
- Working knowledge of alcohol drinks (beer, wine, liquor) or non-alcoholic brands and products

- Pleasant behaviour and temperament focused on the support of the bartender
- Energetic person for the bar atmosphere and for serving guests promptly
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during busy periods
- Flexible to work during nights, weekends, holidays and/or divided shifts if required
- Good and smart appearance and professional presence
- Cooperative stance when working as part of the beach club/restaurant team
- Able to cope with the physical demands of the position
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work standing for long periods of time
- Having quick reflexes to be able to work in the bar area
- Having flexibility to be able to work in the bar area
- Being capable to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds when needed
- The employee can be occasionally exposed to fumes including environmental smoke
- Employees may be at risk when trying to solve problems with extremely angry or difficult guests or team members
- Being capable to work with noise
