A leading International School in the beautiful city of Funchal, Portugal is currently recruiting an Education/Teaching Assistant to support their growing student needs. Job Description & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist with both one-to-one tutoring and group teaching, helping students with their studies and extra-curricular activities. This role includes assisting classroom teachers with the development and implementation of educational plans, including personalized Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students with special needs.

Additional responsibilities include keeping accurate student records, preparing learning materials, and creating a learning environment conducive to growth and exploration. The hired individual will also be expected to maintain communication with parents regarding student progress and address any concerns.

Job Requirements

Applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related discipline with some experience in assisting or teaching in a school environment. Strong knowledge in academic curriculum delivery, child development, and special educational needs are all necessary. Fluency in both English and Portuguese would be a strong advantage. Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is desirable.

Robust technology skills are valuable in this role, as the successful candidate will be expected to use various teaching aids and software and may be asked to assist with virtual learning if necessary.
