A market-leading architectural firm in Porto, Portugal is seeking an Architectural Intern to join its dynamic and innovative team. Located along the Douro River estuary, Porto is one of the oldest European centres and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historical buildings and impressive monuments. This vibrant city is known for its rich architectural heritage, stunning river views, and the world-renowned Port Wine. Porto offers a high-quality lifestyle with diverse leisure activities, cultural treasures, and an exciting culinary scene.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of architectural practice, from preliminary design and drafting to construction administration. The Intern will assist in the development of project schematics, permit drawings, and construction documents. Participate in site visits, client meetings, and work closely with the project team on design and documentation. They will also gain exposure to new sustainable design methodologies and construction technologies.
Applicants should be currently enrolled in, or recent graduates of an architecture degree program. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite is required. Knowledge of sustainable design principles is an asset. Strong design, drafting and 3D modeling skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team. Excellent communication and organizational skills, initiative and a willingness to learn are also required.
Applicants must be proactive, adaptable, and eager to tackle challenging design problems. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, good aesthetic judgement and enthusiasm about architecture and design are a must. Fluency in English and Portuguese will be given preference, but is not a requirement.
