Our collaborator is a private French primary school located in Lyon. Whatever the age of their students, whatever the level or their objectives, they have developed original and effective teaching methods, based on a fun approach, discussion, practical situations and a program that evolves over time.

They are urgently looking for an English language assistant to join their team.

Tarefas

As an English Language Assistant you will be working in a private French primary school to assisting the French teaching team bring English alive to young kids (aged 8-11yrs old).

• Provide English teaching support to the French teaching team during school hours (daytime).
• Offer English language learning support to the host family.
• Engage in English conversation at every opportunity, both at school and with the host family.
• Be responsible for offering English teaching support content where needed.
• Participate in educational monitoring.
• Participate in improving English conversation amongst the students.
• Collaborate daily with the school management team.
• Work in collaboration with school teachers and communicate daily educational objectives for the coming period/week.

Requisitos

• It is compulsory for a university or educational establishment to sign the internship agreement.
• 18-27yrs old.
• Must have valid passport. 6 months only possible for EU passport holders. All other applicants will be eligible for 3 months only.
• Happy to live with host family (compulsory).
• Enjoy working with young kids
• Speak English as a first language with ability to make cultural references.
• Adaptable, team player with excellent communication skills.
• Moderate French (B1 or B2 level).
• Eligible for an internship & working in France.

Condições

• Accommodation with a vetted host family, your own room (all host families undergo strict due diligence checks and are vetted for student safety).
• 670€ gross salary per month.
• You may be eligible for Turing funding (up to £450 a month) in addition to this paid opportunity. Please speak to your Careers Service/Talent team for more information.

• 50% of public transport to and from work reimbursed.

• Transfer from local French airport/train station to your host family.
• Improved spoken French guaranteed.
• Certification of completion (Attestation).
• This opportunity can count towards the 9 months required for an undergraduate placement year (accredited to course, subject to academic approval).

 

Availability

• Duration: 6 months Convention de Stage contract (for candidates with EU passports only) or the internship will be split into 2 placements of 3 months each (for non EU candidates). This 6 month programme will start 30 Sept 2024 and will end March/April 2025
• 27 hours/ week.
